Accessibility Statement

  • Last updated: 1 January 2025
  • Prepared by: Kinshipway

Our commitment: Kinshipway is committed to making its website accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We continually work to improve the experience for all visitors.

1. Our commitment to accessibility

Kinshipway believes that the internet should be accessible to everyone. We are committed to ensuring that www.kinshipway.com is accessible to people with disabilities, including those who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, voice recognition software, and keyboard-only navigation.

We recognise that accessibility is an ongoing effort and we continuously review our website and services to improve accessibility.

2. Conformance standard

We aim to meet the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities.

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partial conformance means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the standard. We are actively working to address these areas.

This statement has been prepared in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (UK). Commercial websites are not legally required to produce an accessibility statement, but we do so voluntarily as a demonstration of our commitment.

3. Measures we take

To support accessibility, Kinshipway takes the following measures:

In place

  • Semantic HTML — Proper use of headings, landmarks, lists, and descriptive link text.
  • Keyboard navigation — All interactive elements are reachable and operable by keyboard.
  • Colour contrast — Text meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for body text).
  • Text resizing — Content remains readable and functional when text is resized up to 200%.

In progress

  • Alt text for images — We are working to ensure all meaningful images have descriptive alt text.
  • Video captions — We are adding captions and transcripts to video content across the site.

We test our website using a combination of automated tools (such as Axe and Lighthouse) and manual testing with assistive technologies including NVDA (Windows), VoiceOver (macOS / iOS), and TalkBack (Android).

4. Known limitations

We are aware of the following accessibility limitations that we are working to resolve:

  • Some older PDF documents may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We are in the process of remediating these.
  • Certain third-party embedded tools (such as maps or chat widgets) may not meet full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance. We encourage providers to improve accessibility and will seek alternatives where needed.
  • Some complex data tables may lack sufficient header associations — we are addressing this in an ongoing site review.

We aim to resolve these issues within a reasonable timeframe. If you encounter a barrier not listed here, please let us know.

5. Feedback and contact information

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you experience any accessibility barriers, have difficulty accessing content, or require information in an alternative format, please contact us:
